Yummy Fork Biscuits ...
Just a quick peek at my Sunday morning and feeding my family :
It was a slow start to our Sunday, but after my morning cup of tea, I decided to make some delicious fork biscuits ... I’ll pop my recipe below 😋🍪
Whilst they were baking, I had time to prune and top up my Aerogardens. They’re doing really well, lots of lovely fresh lettuce, basil and parsley. I’m just waiting on the cherry tomatoes ... 🌱
Quick check on my biscuits, and it’s one batch out, and the second batch in ... they smell so good, I wish I could share glorious baking aromas with you. 😊
Now it was time to think about lunch and I decided on a quick tomato soup ... it’s a firm family favourite and so yummy. 😍
After another quick check of my biscuits, I decided they need a little bit longer. I cook on an electric range, so the more I do the more temperature I lose ... 🤷‍♀️
Anyway, my biscuits are browning nicely and my soup is bubbling away on the stove, it’s time to think about making some bread for supper tonight ... phew, I’m longing to get outside , it’s a beautiful sunny day. 😅☀️
Finally my biscuits are done and I call my family in for lunch. Smiles all round, so it was definitely a morning well spent ... 😃 Happy Sunday to you all ......
Fork Biscuits:
8oz Margarine, 2 1/2 oz Caster Sugar creamed together. Add 10 oz of self raising flour, mix all ingredients together to form a dough. Divide and roll dough into small balls (I guess the size of a walnut). Lightly flour a fork and press the balls of dough flat. Bake until golden brown and firmish to the touch.
You can add any flavours you like to taste. I sometimes substitute some of the margarine for peanut butter, or some of the flour for hot chocolate power. Lemon rind is a good one to ... ENJOY ... 😉 X
