A Big Thank You & New Reflective Hats In The Shop ... :)

26/1/2021

Well there’s not much going on in the garden at the moment, so I’m taking some time to enjoy the snow and plough ahead with my knitting.
Our little craft shop, started off as a fun hobby. But with the pandemic and multiple lockdowns, we have really come to rely on it. It keeps us busy and gives us something positive to focus on, especially spending so much more time at home. So to all our friends, followers and customers, who support and encourage us ... Thank you so much, it really means the world to us.
With knitting in mind, I’ve managed to finish two more of my reflective hats. I’m completely sold on them and when we tested them out, were amazed at how reflective they actually are. They work really well ... so now I’m on the hunt for more colours. So far we have one each in pink, green and purple, with an orange one hopefully finished later this afternoon. Fingers crossed ... If you’d like to take a look, they are all available through Folksy and on our website.

A Walk In The Woods ...

A walk in the woods ... I’m so grateful for our rural life right now and to live in such beautiful surroundings. Trees and mountains right on our doorstep and not a soul in sight, I really love the peace and quiet ... feeling so lucky. Sending love to all ... please stay safe. Xx

Belated Birthday Baking ... :)

We’re having a belated birthday tea, for our lovely daughter tonight. Her request this year ... a chocolate orange cake. Oh my goodness, the aroma of that cake baking, was truly mouthwatering. I just used my standard chocolate sponge mix and added 3 teaspoons of orange essence. I then sandwiched the two sponges, with a layer of chocolate orange fudge, which I also used to frost the outside. Topping the whole thing off with grated intense orange chocolate and chocolate orange segments ... yum .
Homemade cakes are a huge part of our birthday celebrations and I really love making them. I’m also delighted to say, this one made her grin, big smiles all round. Happy Birthday H ... :) Xx

Our New Holiday Let Cottage For 2021 ... :)

With Scotland in full lockdown again, my heart breaks for all those affected by Covid, and for all the sadness in the world at the moment. Please know we’re thinking of you all and sending love. Honestly I don’t think I can listen to the news anymore, it’s dragging me down. For me, when things get to much, I head to my garden ... So ... I’m taking some time today to set up 3 trays of microgreens ... radish, kale and broccoli.
Alongside our aerogardens, we’re able to grow fresh produce all year round. Makes this Mum so happy.
On a brighter note, we’ve had some beautiful frosty mornings here and now snow forecasted all day tomorrow ... very exciting.
We also managed to add some finishing touches to our holiday let cottage. So here’s a quick peek at one of the bedrooms.
Anyway, please be kind and stay safe, we’ll get through this in the end ... And a big thank you, to all our NHS staff and frontline workers. Words are not enough ... :) Xxx

January 2021 ...

Wow ... I’m really enjoying these beautiful snow filled days of January. A soft blanket of white coats the landscape, and the mountains shimmer in the early morning sunshine. Everything just feels so peaceful and calm ... winter is definitely one of my favourite seasons.
In the garden, we’re delighted with how the greenhouse and Polycrub have been holding up. They’ve coped really well with both strong winds and snow loads ... so that’s a big sigh of relief. I can’t wait to start planting again and with one eye on spring, I’m sorting through my seeds today ... :)
