Todays wee wander was to Clash Woods - this circular walk is about 2 miles and climbs steadly, before desending through woodlands. It's definitely worth the effort, as the views at the top are spectacular.
I decided in March it was time to get fit and make some big changes. I’m now on week 10 of a healthy new diet and have completed 24 days (starting this month) of wild walks ... feeling great and enjoying the views ... :) Todays wee wander was to Clash Woods - this circular walk is about 2 miles and climbs steadly, before desending through woodlands. Just back from a beautiful evening stroll to the Glenmulliach Viewoint. Simply breathtaking ... It’s about a 3.5 mile circular walk, climbing up through pine trees and opening out onto gorgeous heather moorland. The views were spectacular and it was lovely to just sit and listen to the burn running and the birds sing. Our boys had an absolute blast, they love being outside and were so excited to find newts and tadpoles along the way ... One of my favourite walks by far ... :)
Baby steps ... we’re just starting to ride this beautiful boy out and about. So many new things to see and experience, but so far he’s taking it all in his stride. Even our big black truck suddenly appearing behind him didn’t phase him ... so proud of him. :)
Hi there ...
Hope you’re all having a great weekend ... Just a quick shop update to let you know these adorable handmade delights are back in stock. We only have one each of the needle felt white mouse, brown mouse (both in a bootie) and bunny, but can accept orders for any amount of the cute little owls. We have one in stock ready to go, but please feel free to send a message if you require more ... :) My chickens are such good girls and it’s been such a long hard winter for them. Thankfully they’re laying their beautiful eggs again and we’re enjoying each and every one. As I’m getting so many eggs at the moment, I plan on freezing some ... hopefully build up a nice little store for later in the year.
I love Spring and I love my hens ... :) We had our 2nd Covid vaccinations yesterday and thankfully, so far, no nasty side effects. We also wanted to say a big thank you to all the lovely NHS staff, who have given so much and worked so hard to keep us all safe. We really appreciate it ... Today’s wee wander was along the West Avonside Circuit, Glenlivet. It’s a beautiful walk through rolling countryside, with the Cromdale Hills on one side and the river Avon on the other. Perfectly peaceful and quiet ... :) For more information on our wee holiday let cottage, please follow the link at the top of our page ... Yikes, flash floods and some of the heaviest rain I’ve ever seen, left us a little soggy today ... It truly broke my heart to see all that water pouring through our Polycrub and greenhouse. The wee dam at the corner of our property, just couldn’t cope with the sheer volume of water coming off the hills. Hopefully it won’t last long ... Our horses are definitely not impressed with the river flowing through their field.
My son immediately pointed to a sign I have in my kitchen... “Keep Calm and Carry On“. Wise words. I think our next job is going to be some serious drainage improvements ... Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, but for now I choose to enjoy the rainbow that has literally just appeared on the horizon ... :) Finally the weather is warming up and I think we’ve seen the last of the snow ... fingers crossed ...
Today’s adventure was to the Braes of Glenlivet, where the views are simply breathtaking. It’s always so quiet and still there, one of my favourite places to just sit and think. I love the sound of the babbling burn and the birds singing overhead. One word ... happy. :) On a different note, the birds are loving their new gorgeous teapot birdhouse. I found this one on the lovely Etsy shop :‘CosyGardenFeatures’. I was so excited to see that we have a new feathered friend on the homestead. I haven’t managed to capture a photo yet, but I’m still trying ... Anyway, hope you’re having a great day and staying safe. Sending positive vibes to all ... Xx It’s been full steam ahead over the last couple of weeks and it’s been so nice to welcome guests to our wee holiday let cottage in the Highlands of Scotland. They’ve given us some really lovely feedback (which has been so touching), and they’ve all had a wonderful time (which really warms my heart).
We still have some booking availability in June, July and August ... but hurry these dates are being snapped up fast. So if you’re looking for a short break or a wee holiday and would like more details on activities and availability, please follow the link at the top of our page ... A warm welcome awaits ... :) |
