Either way, it’s great to spend time together in the kitchen, creating memories and learning new skills ... :)
We all love cooking from scratch and the kids are always eager to roll their sleeves up and help. It often takes me longer to prepare a meal, but showing them how to cook with fresh ingredients really warms my heart ... definitely time well spent. Making homemade soup has become a staple part of our diet over lockdown and something we all enjoy eating. As I have a healthy stash of veggies squirrelled away, both frozen and dehydrated, we’ve been able to come up with many new recipes. Some are delicious and work really well, some need a little more work.

Evening all, I had a crafty Saturday full of paracord and charms. With some good music playing in the background, it was a really fun and relaxing day. Here’s a quick peek at some of the new goodies added to our shop today ... :)
Finally the snow is lifting and my thoughts and hope turn to Spring. I’m so impatient to start growing in our Polycrub (sadly we still need topsoil to be able to plant) and finish the greenhouse we started last year. I’m sure like so many others with the second lockdown still in place, we’ve really had to tighten our belts. All our projects have gone on hold and it’s a matter of just surviving. Worrying times … 😔
Luckily we have our pantry, with enough food put by to keep us going and logs for our fire. I’m so incredibly grateful to be able to pull on our homesteading skills & mindset though these troubled times. Anyway, I’m holding onto the positives, no matter how small they are and looking forward with my whole heart to Spring. I can’t wait to see my daffodils pop up and get my hands back in the earth. Sending you all love and positive vibes … things will get better. Poor little Henry dog, doesn’t have much of a winter coat and was definitely feeling the cold. My daughter asked me to make him a little jumper ...
I’ve never made one before, but thought I’d give it a go. Anything for Henry, he’s such a sweet little pup. Anyway, I finished sewing it up this morning and he really seems to like it ... !!! Made my entire day to see him curled up all snuggly and warm. So happy ... :) Should I make some more and pop them in our shop ???? |
